Champion Jack’s Vintage Clothing
Coming to Champion Jack’s on Saturday, February 11th:
SPAGHETTI WESTERN MOVIE NIGHT WITH OLD MARE AND IMMACULATE MULES
Since our Christmas movie/show was super fun, why not do it again? This time we are playing some nice obscure/crappy spaghetti western movies with performances by Old Mare and The Immaculate Mules!
Old Mare have just released their “You Deserve More” EP (which we have in the shop by the way!) and will be playing all those tracks plus a few more! Hometown heroes!
Immaculate Mules have a ramshackle existence and rarely come out to play, so this will be a boozy-doozy for sure!
The cost is $3, or $2 with a canned good!
See you then! Tell your Friends!

Sell Your Vintage To China…
Wouldn’t that be a great turn of events!
As many of you know, I operate Main Street Mall Online, often called MSMO (pronounced: Miz-Moh) and I got this request through our site mail there from a vintage clothing seller living in China. I thought it might be a great way for one or more of you to move some bulk merchandise and maybe tip the balance of trade in our favor. :o)
Hello,
My name is Miranda Mullett, I am American but living in China. Currently, I have a vintage store but need a reliable supply chain. If you are interested, it would be great if we could work something out and work together.
Thanks,
Miranda

My New Vintage Store
Hey everyone. just wanted to tell you about my new site. I have recently opened a new shoppe called C’est la Vie. I will be uploading new items (over 400) in the next couple of months. I offer great prices on a great clothes, housewares, handmade clothing, shoes, purses, and jewelry. Please visit, but please be patient, as the shop is extremely new. I’ve been open just a few weeks and lots of wonderful items to list.
Here are a few selections from my shop today:
Vintage 30s /40s swing rockabilly floral dress
I needed to raise a little money to help with the cost of moving to a new apartment so I checked through my closet to see what I could find. I turned up the black and green, yellow lined dress which I’ve listed for sale on eBay. The terms swing and rockabilly come to mind when looking at this floral print dress.
The dress has a zipper that goes up the front. It is in great condition. The zipper works and the dress has no stains or holes. You can purchase this dress on eBay if you get there before someone else takes it! Otherwise, it’s just worth looking at. See pictures below.
Vintage For The Season
Affaire d’Amour Vintage sells on eBay and from her website where she offers an exquisite collection of vintage fashion.
From day and casual dresses to formal cocktail evening wear, beautiful lingerie, swimwear and playwear, and just about everything in between, you will find a full range of vintage clothing and accessories at Affaire d’Amour Vintage.
One outstanding piece that caught my eye this holiday season is this vintage 70s as 30s blue velvet prom party dress with bolero in a size small. Described on the site as “A vintage 70′s doing 30′s sexy old Hollywood glam” this elegant piece deserves a front and center spot, worn by someone hosting the best Christmas party in town.
As shown on the site, a minor make-over could take this gown a step higher by shortening the hem length to a stunning mini.

Let your imagination guide you. This beautiful gown could make your evening!
Scarlet Monkey Vintage
From her striking, if somewhat unusual, logo graphic (shown to the left) to her stunning vintage clothing and accessories, Kim Griffiths offers items both through her eBay store and her own website where she also posts a blog.
Of her own vintage experience Kim says, “I have been wearing vintage clothing since I was a teen. I love to have my own style. I never want to look like I’m wearing a costume but vintage is a way of life for me. It maybe a handbag from the 60s or a Bakelite pair of earrings or then again a just great 50s dress.”
Shown below is just a small sampling of the wonderful vintage clothing items Kim has listed on her website. Click each image to visit the actual listing:
Goo.gl – Great New URL Shortener from Google
Who else but Google could bring us this great new URL shortener. In the tradition of sites like Tiny URL and bit.ly, Google steps into the arena with goo.gl. It’s open. It’s free. Anyone can use it to easily shorten long URLs into a more manageable handful of characters. If you have a Google account (also free) you can track usage statistics on your shortened URLs. Nice! This really is worth a look.
Omega Trendz – Future Vintage!
There is always a lot of discussion about the meaning, or at least the date range, of the term vintage when it is applied to clothing. Of course, the real meaning of the word actually has to do with the yield of wine or grapes from a vineyard or district during one season. It is more loosely applied to be the year of production of a high quality wine. In the vintage clothing and accessories field it tends to refer to any surviving clothing, hats, scarves, belts, bags and purses, shoes, jewelry and other accessories that are older than 20 (some say 30) years.
Good sellers of vintage clothing and accessories (VCA) are always on the watch for extra special finds and typically work to keep up as new trends finally reach the age to be included in the term vintage. These days there is a growing following of vintage items and may modern pieces are being styled to be like, or otherwise interpret, styles of the past. But, looking at it from the other direction, all styles of today will someday be vintage.
A great place to see new trendy styles that are likely to work there way into the higher end vintage stores of the not-so-distant future would be Omega Trenz. Their website offers an exciting range of contemporary, trendy, junior fashions. Worth a look!
Professional Help Promoting Your Business
Running an online business is difficult for many. Dealing with all the things necessary to get your items online — choosing inventory, selecting a selling site, finding sources, purchasing stock, writing listings, and more. And then, after all of this, there is no guarantee customers will actually find you, even on the larger selling sites.
Many sellers go through all the effort to get their items listed and then, as if the job was done, they sit back and wait for the sales. I read a post today from a seller who was asking how to have the patience to wait for sales to come.
Successful sellers know that it isn’t patience you need, it’s action. Action — promoting your business, your listings, posting on forums, participating in groups — all of that and more can help bring visitors to your listings, your store, your website. And visitors turn into customers when they see, like, and want, the items you are selling.
No visitors, no customers. It’s pretty much that simple.
Vintage Clothing Sellers knows that it may be simple, basic, but it is still difficult for most of us to do. It takes too much time or it costs too much and there is too much to learn that isn’t really what we signed up for. We want to be sellers, not promoters. So how do we get it done?
We could hire a professional but that can cost hundreds, or even thousands, of dollars a month. It’s great for huge operations with tens of thousands of items in inventory but what about the small seller with a few dozen, or a few hundred, items at any one time? They can’t afford the price of most professional packages.
Vintage Clothing Sellers is now offering a package that combines the needs of participating members in order to apply professional search engine optimization, social media marketing, and web marketing techniques to the entire group, thus cutting costs so as to be affordable for anyone.
Check out this page: Seller Promotion Group for more information and then joint the forum.
Places To Sell Vintage Online
Online vintage clothing sellers are always looking for good places to list their items. eBay used to be the leader but there are many other choices today. Etsy, primarily a crafts and craft supplies venue has become a strong place for vintage clothing and accessories sellers. Ruby Lane, thought of by many as an antiques mall is also a good choice. With a specific focus on the vintage clothing and accessories market, Main Street Vintage, one of the Main Street Mall Online collection of virtual malls, is a solid choice for many sellers in the vintage clothing arena.
